Congratulations to Marty

While Bungie is mostly ineligible to win any game awards for the year 2002, there is one small nomination this reporter noticed. Music4games.net has reported that Marty O'Donnell was nominated for Best Game Audio Article, Publication, or Broadcast in the first annual Game Audio Network Guild Awards for the article "The Use and Effectiveness of Audio in HALO: Game Music Evolved." Way to go, Marty!

Posted by: bob on December 19, 2004 11:29 PM

i really like your work that you've done especially the themes of music. for example when the hunters appear, a more addrenaline-pumping beat starts and once the hunters are dead and your safe, the music calms back down. it really adds to the environment of the game. i was wondering if you could send me some sheetmusic for piano. ive been playing piano for about 11 years now, but i cant transcribe onto blank sheetmusic just by listening to your cd. thnx.

Just to let everyone here know, the only site with Halo sheet music is http://rampancy.net. There are orchestra scores as well as piano solos (transcribed by me). If you want them, just go to rampancy.net, register (free, no spam) and login, and then go to the sheet music section and click the ones you want.

Posted by: Devin on July 25, 2005 02:55 AM

I think the music greatly influences Halo as you are playing. I especially liked the piano music in "Assault on the Control Room". May I have the sheet music?

Posted by: Connor on August 1, 2005 11:20 PM

I'm a choral director and my boys choir is begging me to sing "remembrance". Is there a way for me to get ahold of the sheet music for that? I would love to perform it at one of our upcoming concerts!

Posted by: Marta Hansen on August 17, 2005 08:46 PM

Hey, Marta - I've already written a transcription for Remembrance and I could easely send it to you. Would you like me to do that?

Posted by: Kristian on August 21, 2005 04:25 PM

Hello Mr. O' Donnel. I am completely under a trance from your music every time I hear it. And I was hoping if I could get some sheet music for my trumpet and french horn. If you could, I would greatly appreciate it. I know you have A lot of work to do with Halo 3 and other beautiful works of art, but if you get a chance, please E-mail me the sheet music. Trumpet and F-horn at PaintballJSA@aol.com

Posted by: Jake Arak on August 22, 2005 11:17 PM

I was just wondering, Mr O'Donnell, whether you write any transcriptions at all for the Halo music - I read an interview with you somewhere, and you said something like "I don't have any time to write any sheet music myself, but it's okay if others write transcriptions for my music".
I ask this because I have written a couple of Halo -music transcriptions myself, and I do not want any trouble with the copyright laws.

Posted by: Kristian on September 4, 2005 02:43 PM

Hey I dont want to be a little *****, but I really, really, really would like the sheet music for the "Halo 2 soundtrack vol.1". I know that almost everyone here already asked but please send be sheet music and/or where to get it.

P.S. I don't mind if I have to spend a few dollars.
P.P.S It doesn't matter what you may send me just please give me the whole bonanza.

Posted by: Tyler on October 14, 2005 06:49 PM

Mr. O'Donnell,
Your music has impacted a generation. We don't listen to Bach or Beethoven. We listen to your works, especially those from Halo and Halo 2. Your music has inspired me to play my trumpet more and more so that I can play your works of art. That is why I'm asking if you can send me the trumpet music for what you think is the best song in the Halo Universe. Thank you so much.

P.S. Do you think any of your songs would be great for a marching band play and march to? Which ones?

Thanks.

Of all the music there is today yours (and Michael's) is in my opinion the best. Your music is inspiring and magnificent and I really hope you keep composing on the future.

I'd really like to know which of the songs from both Halo soundtracks were composed be you and which ones were composed by Michael.

Posted by: Martin_Z on November 3, 2005 11:28 PM

I am a cellist and aspiring composer, AND I WANNA PLAY HALO/HALO 2 ON MY CELLO! and i wanna see if my highschool symphony could play it (ya i know slim chance, but KeHS music has pulled off bigger stunts) i know that most of the songs are string, percussion, and vocal heavy, and seeing as those are our strong points i would love have the crew play it...PLZ send my information about where, and how to purchase the music (or you could send it to me) THANK YOU VERY MUCH! of all the composers i have heard you have really inspired me!

Hi, I would highly apriciate it if you could give me a link to a website with Halo1/2 music for all instuments or send me a Word doc or Adobe file including complete scores; Thank you.

PS: Agreeing with other posts I would also appreciate it if you could make concert band forms of some or all of your music for Halo1/2. Thanks again.

Posted by: Josh on January 6, 2006 08:31 PM

wow! there are alot of what looks to be needy people on this site. it is true that the sheet music for the halo themes and such would be really cool, but face it, i doubt martin o'donnell will just give out sheet music freely. heck, he probably won't even sell those pages for years. and frankly, some of the requests above seem a little rude while some just suck up. i try not to offend people, but face it, o'donnell would probably lose millions or billions of dollars if he just gives his works of art away. it would be nice to be practical.
and if you are still reading this, i can't wait untill halo 3 comes out and the soundtrack for h3 comes out so i could enjoy it. thank you for reading this everybody.

Posted by: ZZero on January 26, 2006 01:23 AM

Yea umm... i was wondering if you could send sheet music for violin, and cello, for the halo/halo 2 theme. And uh by the way...I LOVE YOU!
