I have been forced to take down all GURPS Halo materials from Bungie Sightings because Microsoft sent me a cease and desist letter.
The letter says, in part:
Dear Sir,Posted by poenadare at April 1, 2003 9:49 PMMicrosoft has received information that the domain listed below, which appears to be on servers under your control, is offering infringing copies of, or is engaged in other unauthorized activities relating to copyrighted materials owned by Microsoft.
1. Identification of copyrighted works:
Computer program: GURPS HALO images and image translations
Copyright owner: Microsoft Corporation2. Infringing material or activity found at the following location:

http://bs.bungie.org/mtarchives/000247.html3. Statement of authority: I hereby certify under penalty of perjury that the information in this notice is accurate and that I am authorized to act on behalf of Microsoft, the owner of the copyright(s) in the work(s) identified above. I have a good faith belief that none of the materials or activities listed above has been authorized by Microsoft, its agents, or the law.
We hereby give notice of these activities to you and request that you take expeditious action to remove or disable access to the materials described above, and thereby prevent the unauthorized distribution of them via your network.
I think I can make out your name. How did they know it?

Hehe, its kina funny, but in a serious way. Like MS has like a stick up thier a** and is complaining that the site stole property? They are pictures, not items.

Look guys, Microsoft is the last person I want to piss off - for several reasons. This discussion is ended. It's my fault, I should have turned off comments on this article. I'm correcting this mistake now.
